The Holiday Inn Experience
So awesome that they slide a bill for $250 under the door and then you find out your card was hit for $434.

I'm a hero
Earlier we went to the Hard Rock Hotel to meet up with the Motodev crew and we parked in some garage downtown. As I got out of the car I saw two ladies jumping up and down from behind a tiny window in the emergency exit staircase door. I looked again and they were waving and pointing and yelling. I went over and opened the door and found two ladies yelling OH MY GOSH WE WERE STUCK IN HERE THANK...

Showers
Was treated to one of the worst showers of my life this morning. I literally just started laughing while in the shower. A mythic three-peat fail for Holiday Inn Tucson.

Taylor just asked if I wanted Panda Express for breakfast.

Holiday Innconvenience
Well we arrived last night to pitiful wifi and woke up with none. Both our notebooks are blocked even though the network is open with a strong signal. They claimed you get 24 hour access but I guess they don’t mean all at once, haha.

looong day
It was a shock to wake up this morning surrounded by mountains. I drove through many twists and turns in the middle of a thunderstorm last night and could not see anything. Today’s drive was much more laid back. It was a pretty straight shot through New Mexico and Arizona. The high point of the day was getting to the hotel and finding out it was only 1030 instead of 1230 like I thought.

Hotel trek
If there was an award or contest for hotels with the worst floor plans that made the least sense, the Holiday Inn in Tucson just took first place. Also: saying you’ve got free wifi when you really mean you’ve got a free 384kb/s connection that takes forever to upload but have multiple tiers of paid, faster internet is a pretty janky way to upset your guests.

Mystery of the desert
We keep seeing billboards for THE THING, mystery of the desert. Looked it up online and found they have over 200 billboards on this stretch of I-10. 200?! Now that’s what I call marketing.

Zombie
Just pulling into El Paso with Taylor blasting some Cranberries. So it looks like he found our city but also a time machine.

Midnight Trucker Network
Listening to some of the finest late night hill country AM radio of all time (if you like trucks). All the commercials are about motor oil and trucker magazines (yea, apparently those exist, I’m surprised too)

Wide load
Driving through the Texas hill country and got stuck behind a huge double-wide on wheels going way slow. There is a long line of cars in front of and behind us. Finally out of the rain though. Taylor found our first food stop of the day on Yelp, Hondo’s on Main in Fredericksburg.

Waze Muncher
I just checked my Waze rank and I’m sitting at 142. We are about to drive 3000 miles so I expect our rank will jump quite a bit. I will be reporting on how many points we much and my experiences with Waze.
